The hammock

The boys tried relaxing in the hammock. It was hard for them to stay centered because of their light weight. Gage kept slipping to the edge and Zane slipped with him. Of course, we were within a foot of them and no injuries occurred, even when Zane flipped out when Gage got up. The hammock was only a few inches above the concrete.

Fishing photos

As I mentioned, the catfish were eager to be caught and the boys had a good time. Wendy always held the loop at the back of Zane's life jacket, so he sometimes looked as if he were leaning into the wind.

Fishing

Fishing was one of the last activities before the Garners left for home. The catfish were very cooperative and barely waited for the cork to hit the water before they went for their dangerous hot dog bite. Gage caught 3 catfish and Zane caught 2. They might have had a little help.

Sliding up and down

The way Zane slides down at the end of this video is how he did it the first time he got to the top...except he slid all the way from the top...a pretty quick trip down with no water lubricating the way. There is a small tunnel where Brent is sitting for little ones to slide through. Carlee, who just turned one-year old a couple of weeks ago, liked going on either slide. Of course, her mommy and daddy were in total control. Kate, who is the same age as Zane, is usually going 90 to nothing.

More Memorial Day Weekend

I meant to post more pictures and videos from Memorial Day Weekend. I thought I had done it, but just noticed that I have several posts that were saved in "draft" form. I was having problems uploading the videos and then just forgot about them.

In this video, Gage is impatiently waiting for Zane to climb up the slide. Well...you can see for yourself what happens.

Memorial Day Weekend

I've been trying to figure out an easy way to share videos with Gage & Zane's other grandparents. The photos aren't a problem, but videos are usually too big a file to attach to an email. Finally, I realized that a blog would be the answer. I had started one when Wayne was in the hospital to keep friends and family up to date, so I knew I could upload videos.

My usual inclination is to start at the beginning, but I've only had this video capable camera for about a year and a half. I'll post photos and videos so you can all see what cute, funny, smart little guys they are.

The images in this post are from this past Memorial Day Weekend. Carolyn & Brent bought a water slide/pool and took it to the bay. The little ones loved it and spent hours every day climbing and sliding. Wendy and Zane arrived on Friday, but Gage had a tee-ball game on Friday night and he and Kelly came to the bay on Saturday. The first time Zane climbed up the ladder side, he looked at the slide and said, "I don't want to do it." He then let go and slid back down the climbing side. It only took seeing Kate do it a few times for him to try again and slide down. After a few assisted climbs, he was able to do it by himself. I think you can hear him say "I'm being safe" on the video.
